Buschlen Mowatt Galleries is once again pleased to present the work of world-renowned Yehouda Chaki. This miniature retrospective features 13 new paintings in his Toba River Valley series as well as several pieces dating as far back as 1979. The Toba River Valley series was initially created for an exhibition and catalogue to illustrate the site of Plutonic Power Corporation’s Green Power Corridor (See www.plutonic.ca for more details). In 2007 Chaki travelled alongside Don McInnes through the Toba River Valley in pursuit of a new body of work that would illustrate the spaces in which Plutonic Power was developing its new green energy ministry. That experience has not only forever altered Chaki's colour palette but also his very understanding of the Canadian landscape.
