Biography
Winner of the French, Mèdaille des Chevaliers des Arts et Lettres, Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa is at the forefront of the contemporary art scene. Plensa’s work is featured in numerous projects and public spaces in Barcelona, Torrelavega and Tenerife (Spain); Auch and St. Denis (France); Tokyo, Hamamatsu, Tachikawa, and Nakasato (Japan); Yorkshire and Baltic-Gateshead (England); Jerusalem (Israel); Pistoia (Italy); Kimpo (Korea); Neanderthal and Brandenburg (Germany); Vallorbe (Switzerland); Gloucester, Jacksonville and Washington (USA) among others.
Plensa works in a wide range of media including drawing, sculpture, print-making, opera scenery, video art, acoustic installations, text and light and his work demands participation to enhance and extend its significance.
