Established in 1979, Buschlen Mowatt Galleries specializes in modern and contemporary art. Buschlen Mowatt Gallery is located in Vancouver, Canada and has earned a global reputation for showcasing some of the world’s most esteemed artists, producing museum caliber exhibitions, as well as distinguishing and guiding the careers of emerging talent. A member of the Art Dealers Association of Canada (ADAC), Barrie Mowatt, owner and CEO of Buschlen Mowatt Fine Arts, has received several awards including the Vancouver Business in Arts Award from the Vancouver Board of Trade and the Ethics in Action award presented by Vancouver City Savings and the Provincial government's Work Ministry. Mr. Mowatt has twice been nominated for Western Canada's Entrepreneur of the Year in the category of socially responsible businesses. Acclaimed by the Vancouver Sun for "opening the doors of Vancouver to international art," Barrie Mowatt now travels the world conferencing with museum directors, curators and artists.
Buschlen Mowatt expresses its dedication to the community through the Celebration of Hope Foundation, the Buschlen Mowatt Foundation, Friends for Life, the Hope Cancer Centre, and various local food programs. Buschlen Mowatt supports cultural advancement through the sponsorship of Arts Umbrella, Canada's leading visual and performing arts institute for youth (ages 2-19), by providing exhibition space, full tuition, and scholarships for the gifted teens program.
Celebration of Hope
To provide hope and inspiration for friends, relatives and persons living with and/or victors of a life threatining illness through the creation of workshops, lecture series, a book/tape "gifting" program for individuals as well as resource libraries in community centers, hospices, hospitals and community care centers around the world.
